Description
Historian Robert Singletary will be discussing the history of the Coeur d’Alene & Spokane Electric Railroad. The “electric line,” as it was commonly called by local residents, operated from 1903 to 1939. It played a major role in the development of Coeur d’Alene connecting Coeur d'Alene, Hayden Lake, Spokane and other communities in eastern Washington. A book about the Inland Empire Electric Line, written by Clive Carter and published by the Museum of North, will be for sale at the program. The Inland Northwest Milestones Lecture Series is sponsored by the Museum and the Coeur d‘Alene Public Library. The program is free to the public. Call 208-664-3448 for more information.
