Description
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Summer Service Day is to invite volunteers who enjoy the year-round benefits of the Kootenai County Fairgrounds and its events to participate in projects that will improve and enhance the facilities and the fair itself; all while having a fun time and building a sense of community.
OVERVIEW
Organizations and individuals who would like to participate in giving back are asked to join us for a one day, kick-off to summer work party. Modeled after the ‘old-fashioned barn raising’, we will come together in the spirit of fun and community for a common purpose and goal. The plan will be to have projects of various skill levels set up throughout the Fairgrounds where volunteers can break into groups and, under the leadership of our staff and board, work on items such as painting, landscaping, cleaning and organizing, repairing props, assembling facades, etc. In appreciation of these efforts, the Fairgrounds will host a mid-day barbecue celebration in Foundation Park, complete with entertainment, food and beverages.
