Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00/hr, dependent on experience

Position Summary
The Festival at Sandpoint’s Merchandise Coordinator will report to the Programming Manager and oversee all merchandise operations for the Summer Series. This role begins part-time in the planning phase and transitions into a full-time, on-site leadership position during the series. This role is responsible for coordinating artist merchandise, managing FAS (Festival at Sandpoint) merchandise operations, and scheduling and supervising merch volunteers to ensure smooth, profitable, and well-organized sales.
Seasonal Structure
Pre-Production: July 1 - Summer Series Opening Day
- Part-time: 15-20 hours per week (remote/hybrid available)
- Coordinate with Programming Manager to advance merchandise logistics with touring parties
- Coordinate payment methods, reporting expectations, and settlement procedures
- Prepare Square and AtVenu platforms for the Summer Series
- Communicate load-in procedures and merch policies to artist teams
- Schedule volunteers for both FAS and artist merch booths
Summer Series: July 30 - August 9
- Full-time, on-site presence required
- Operational days can range from 8-12 hours
- Evenings and weekends required
Post-Production: August 10
- Assist with merch booth break-down
- Inventory any remaining FAS merch
Key Responsibilities
Advancing & Artist Coordination:
- Coordinate with Programming Manager to advance settlement terms, inventory needs, staffing requirements, and technical needs with touring parties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for artist teams regarding merchandise needs
- Coordinate payment methods, reporting expectations, and settlement procedures
- Prepare merch manifests and pre-show documentation
- Communicate load-in procedures and merch policies to artist teams
- Schedule volunteers for both FAS and artist merch booths
Merch Operations:
- Oversee setup and breakdown of all FAS and artist merchandise areas
- Ensure proper display, pricing, and inventory tracking
- Manage artist settlements in coordination with accounting
- Maintain accurate sales reporting and daily reconciliation
- Troubleshoot point-of-sale issues and operational challenges
Volunteer & Staffing Management:
- Create and manage volunteer schedules for both FAS and artist merch booths
- Train volunteers on POS systems, sales procedures, and customer service standards
- Supervise volunteers during show days to ensure efficiency and accountability
- Ensure adequate coverage for peak sales periods
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in live events, venue merchandise operations, festival merchandise, or retail
- Strong organization, time management, and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Comfortable working independently in a remote capacity
- Willingness to work extended hours during festival dates
- Experience managing small teams and/or volunteers
- Detail-oriented with strong POS reconciliation & reporting skills
Preferred
- Previous experience using AtVenu and/or Square preferred
- Previous venue experience
Physical and Schedule Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors
- Ability to lift and move hospitality equipment and supplies (up to 50lbs)
- Available evenings and weekends during the Summer Series
- Able and willing to work long operational days (12-15hr days on show days)
Compensation & Perks
- This is a seasonal, term-based position: $17-20/hr, overtime rates apply
- Lunch & Dinner provided on show days
