About

The Museum of North Idaho preserves and illuminates our past to inspire our future. Through educational exhibits and programs, we highlight the history of Kootenai, Benewah, and Shoshone counties. Permanent exhibits cover the Missoula Floods, Schitsu'umsh people, French fur traders, Fort Sherman, steamboats, mining, logging, railroads, union wars, forestry and fire lookouts, and Farragut Naval Training Station. Throughout the warmer season, MONI offers walking tours of Old Fort Sherman, Downtown Coeur d'Alene, Sanders Beach, and evening cemetery tours. Admission to the Museum of North Idaho is $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for Seniors, $2.00 for children 5-12, and children under 5 are free. Members are admitted free. Contact the Museum for historic walking tours, special openings and group tours. A research library houses archival materials, books and more than 35,000 photographs, and is available by appointment year round.
