About

Vanessa Moos brings over 17 years of nonprofit leadership to her role. Most recently, as CEO of Canopy Village, she oversaw both the operational and strategic direction of two distinct 501(c)(3) organizations. Since joining the organization in 2019 as Director of Charitable Giving, Vanessa led significant growth and impact initiatives. She was named Chief Executive Officer in 2021 and was responsible for agency operations, program expansion, fiscal management, human resources, fundraising, and the stewardship of a 15-acre campus. She also managed governance for both boards of directors. In her time as Chief Executive Officer at Canopy Village, she turned the agency away from closure and into a thriving entity with endowments and lucrative contracts.

As an agile practitioner, her skillset brings strength in tactical through strategic leadership. With the customer as priority audience, she is adept at assessing, designing, and deploying long-term remedies to decades-old agency barriers.

Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from John Carroll University, a private Jesuit institution, and earned her master’s in public administration from California State University in 2015, supported by her husband’s GI Bill. She achieved her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential in 2024.

Prior to joining Canopy Village, Vanessa spent 12 years with the American Cancer Society, advancing from an entry-level fundraiser to one of only three national managers of volunteer onboarding. During this time, Vanessa and her husband, Eric—a Coeur d’Alene native and former F/A-18 Top Gun pilot—traveled the country as a proud Marine Corps family. In 2018, they returned home to Coeur d’Alene to raise their two young sons and reconnect with the community they love.

Vanessa is deeply engaged in regional leadership. She serves as the 2025 Chairperson of Leadership Coeur d’Alene and as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber. She also supports emerging nonprofit organizations through her consulting firm, Regatta Strategy Group. A two time winner of Kootenai County Top 30 under 40, Vanessa is a respected leader in the Pacific Northwest.
