Spokane International Airport Completes Concourse C Expansion Project

Looks to Next Phase of Terminal Improvements

SPOKANE, Wash. (May 26, 2026) – Spokane International Airport (GEG) has completed the Concourse C Expansion Project. Encompassing a 140,000 square foot addition, along with extensive renovation, to the Airport’s existing terminal building, the project represents the first fully completed component of the multi-phase Terminal Renovation and Expansion (TREX) Program. This is a monumental step forward towards the organization’s long-term vision to enhance the air travel experience for Inland Northwest passengers.

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown, Spokane City Council President Betsy Wilkerson, Spokane County Commissioner Mary Brooks, Spokane County Commissioner Al French along with representatives from Alaska Airlines and the construction manager and contractor joint venture Garco Construction, joined leaders from the airport and community to commemorate the occasion during a formal dedication ceremony.

“Two years ago, when we debuted the west terminal expansion, the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene region got a sneak peek of our bold new vision for the Airport: a reimagined gateway, purpose-built to expand efficiency and accessibility for our growing region. Today, that vision is no longer just a concept – it’s becoming reality for what we anticipate the future of air travel to look like for our region for generations to come,” said Dave Haring, Spokane Airports CEO. “We are incredibly thankful for partners like United States Senator Maria Cantwell who have been steadfast in their support and advocacy of our terminal enhancement program and look forward to continuing to build on this momentum.”

Starting early June, flights will begin departing from the newly reconstructed and modernized gates C1, C2, and C3. Designed with travelers in mind, the space features new passenger boarding bridges, along with many of the enhanced amenities introduced to travelers during the project’s first phase, the Concourse C West Terminal Expansion, including:

  • Expanded accessibility for passengers with disabilities. Specific amenities include assistive listening technology, multi-use information displays and companion care rooms with changing stations.
  • Regionally sourced fixtures and finishes, such as basalt tiles, mother-of-pearl terrazzo floors, and custom-designed mosaics of local landmarks, to inspire a unique sense of place for passengers.
  • Electrochromic smart windows that leverage green technology and software to manage the daylight, glare and energy use in the terminal – and maximize passenger comfort – throughout the day and night.
  • Expertly designed restrooms, featuring contemporary vanities, larger stalls and outward-swinging doors to increase functionality and accessibility.

Passengers traveling through the updated concourse will also have several new dining options available to them as part of the Airport’s revamped, regionally-focused concessions program. New dining includes Puerto. Taco. Tortas. Cantina, Meltz Extreme Grilled Cheese, along with soon-to-open local favorites like Indaba Coffee and Iron Goat Brewing.

The new terminal was designed by Minneapolis-based architecture firm Alliiance Co. and constructed through a joint venture between renowned airport construction firm QD Construction and Spokane-based Garco Construction and financed through a variety of sources including nearly $50 million in grants through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Earlier this month, teams began relocating existing infrastructure along the Airport’s front curb to enable the next phase of TREX: creation of a 255,000-square-foot Central Hall facility to consolidate the airport’s two siloed terminals. Subject to future funding, the project is expected to break ground in early 2027.
